The Morgan Library & Museum in NYC

At Empire Rent A Car, we want to include The Morgan Library & Museum on our list of must-see places in NYC, especially if you’re a fan of the written word. While not as well known as the American Museum of Natural History or The Guggenheim, The Morgan Library is a special treasure in a nonstop city, making it a sanctuary for the avid reader, history buff, and lover of beautiful things.

NYC AttractionsAbout the Museum

In 1924, J.P. Morgan, Jr. opened his father’s rare collection of books, art, prints, artifacts, and more to the general public. This library has since become a favorite tourist destination for many, especially as the collection has expanded and even brought in rotating exhibits from outside sources. Plus, the library itself looks like something straight out of a movie. You can stop by during regular admission hours to see these exhibits firsthand, or you may also choose to attend one of the many events or performances held at the library.

Getting There

The Morgan Library & Museum is not far from Grand Central and Penn Station. However, if you’re traveling in a rental car, set your trajectory to the corner of Madison Avenue and 36th Street. We recommend that you come and stay for a while, soaking in not only these rare exhibits but also the nearby places to eat, shop, and more. Make a day out of it.
